Linking the efforts (Kaboom and kilikili)

A key aspect in this global world to bring in significant social and environmental change is linking similar efforts across the world together to create one big huge effort. Since we would have a guest visitor from Kaboom, i just thought i will take this opportunity to put forth this issue and see what others in the class think. Similar to Kaboom's efforts of creating playgrounds, i know of a local organization in Bangalore, India called kilikili (http://www.kilikili.org/) who create playgrounds for children with an objective that even handicapped children can play there. I am sure there will be a lot of such local efforts in just the space of building playgrounds - often combining other themes such as handicapped friendly. Kaboom surely has this interesting model of passing on the expertise to local people. Do people believe that this is the way moving forward - spread the expertise and let the development efforts grow exponentially? Seems like another paradigm shift - from the age of copyrights to the age of free sourcing (all started by linux vs windows), extending what we discussed about changes in consumer preference to changes in preferences of corporations of tomorrow build on the idea of information sharing.
