Here's an interesting form of crowd sourcing that pays mobile phone users in developing countries to accomplish simple tasks for large corporations through text messaging. TxtEagle, is currently deployed in Kenya and will soon be deployed in Riwanda and is providing additional income to those in rural and low income populations as long as they have cell phone access and service.

TxtEagle reminded me of Participant media and Twitter because it too reduces adminstrative cost of compiling and distributing information across the world. TxtEagle types of services are especially neccessary in conflict ridden areas where the individuals need to and want to let the world know what is happening in the countries in terms of human rights violiations, war, crime, government, etc. Through txteagle or twitter, individuals across the world get access to information and primary source of information. This information will reduce false, biased, or inaccurate information from being distirbuted.
